Each fall the LTSS hosts an IP firm tour, which coincides with Ottawa IP firm recruitment. The LTSS also hosted a panel discussion in October with Ottawa IP lawyers to provide information on career opportunities in IP for law students, as well as for science and engineering students
Chaque automne, l’AEDT organise une visite des cabinets en propriété intellectuelle (PI) qui coïncide avec le recrutement des firmes d’Ottawa. L’AEDT a aussi organisé un panel de discussion en octobre avec des avocats d’Ottawa se spécialisant en PI. Ces derniers présentent des opportunités d’emplois ainsi que des trucs pour les étudiants en droit, science et génie intéressés dans un emploi en PI.
For the past two years, the LTSS has hosted 'Encryption 101' where students learn how to use technological tools to protect both personal and client information. The LTSS also works with the faculty's Centre for Law, Technology and Society (CLTS) to encourage students to take technology law courses and seek out research assistant positions with tech law professors on research projects. The LTSS and CLTS also collaborate on events, including one which featured panelists discussing freedom of the press and surveillance in the wake of police surveillance of Patrick Lagacé and other journalists in Québec and Canada.

Depuis deux ans, l’AEDT a organisé « Cryptage 101 » permettant aux étudiants d’apprendre à utiliser des outils digitaux pour protéger l’information de clients. L’AEDT travaille avec le Centre de recherche en droit, technologie et société (CRDTS) en y encourageant les étudiants à participer aux cours en droit et technologie ainsi que d’appliquer pour des postes de recherche avec des professeurs se spécialisant en droit et technologie. L’AEDT et le CRDTS organisent aussi des événements conjoints tels qu’un panel discutant la surveillance et la liberté de presse suite aux cas de Patrick Lagacé et autres journalistes au Canada.
Our primary goals are to:
Expose our members and interested students to areas of law where technology plays a dominant role in its future evolution.
Provide students with resources to prepare them in their pursuit of a career in law with a technology focus
Raise awareness regarding social, ethical or legal violations surrounding the use or control of technology in our modern society, whether it is local, national or global.

The LTSS is comprised of a community of students with a common interest in law and technology-related issues, such as intellectual property, telecommunications and broadcasting, pharmaceuticals, privacy law, biotechnology and more.
LTSS Membership is open to all full-time and part-time students in any program at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law.
