PRIVACY AND INTERNET LAW

 

How personal information is controlled, used, disseminated, or stored in the context of personal privacy rights or reasonable expectations of privacy.

 

BIOTECHNOLOGY AND PHARMACEUTICALS

 

Ethical breaches into human genomic sequencing, patenting DNA sequences, genetically modified foods and products, nanomaterials, and more. This area touches almost every corner of human interaction from health to food to ethical issues in human genetic testing.
 

COMMUNICATIONS AND BROADCASTING

 

Audio-visual, access to media, regional limits and viewing rights, regulation of television, radio, e-services related to communication (such as email, webcasting), and wireless communication services
 

RENEWABLE ENERGY AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT

 

One of the less developed areas in technology law is integrating technology into industry, consumer households as  well as in urban planning, real estate and resource extraction

Engages IP, digital advertising and marketing, cloud computing, social media, anti-trust and competition law, consumer and commercial transactions in e-services and much more!

Welcome to the LTSS!

 

 

The LTSS is comprised of a community of students with a common interest in law and technology-related issues, such as intellectual property, telecommunications and broadcasting, pharmaceuticals, privacy law, biotechnology and more.

 

 

LTSS Membership is open to all full-time and part-time students in any program at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law.
